Couture Reworked Piano Shawl Gown

This gown was made using a 1930’s Piano Shawl, it was draped to mimic a grecian silhouette and it is almost entirely hand sewn, given the textile’s fragility. This gown is the definition of wearable art and is a beautiful example of Ami’s motivation as a designer. Ami uses dead-stock fabrics as a part of her sustainable approach to design. Additionally she aims to create thoughtfully and with intention, so that her garments will remain cherished in your closet. This gown was made for Chelsea Von Mach, as a one of a kind piece and sold in her store in Santa Monica.
